Ryanna Vineyard was planted in 2005 on four acres of chemical free land. The 4,000 vines produced their first vintage five years later. Ryanna Vineyard is located on a working farm at Waverley, 10 minutes from Launceston CBD in Northern Tasmania. The Launceston airport is only 15 minutes away. Ryanna Vineyard uses organic practices as much as possible. Grape varieties at Ryanna Vineyard are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Gewurztraminer and are well suited to Tasmania’s cool climate. These wines display clean, fruit-driven characteristics from our small boutique vineyard. Grapes are hand-picked after slowly ripening on vines planted in deep, organic, clay-rich soils. Careful handling, attention to detail and a long, relatively-dry growing season produce premium grapes. New French oak barrels are used to age these elegant wines giving them wonderful depth and aroma.

Accommodation in Launceston at Glenayr Apartments is a wonderful experience on this working farm and vineyard. Glenayr is just 5 minutes drive from Launceston’s CBD in Northern Tasmania. The Launceston airport is only 15 minutes away. There are a varied range of farming enterprises being undertaken at Glenayr and all farming is based on organic practices as much as possible. You can see farm animals that include cows with calves, ponies, cattle, horses, sheep and lambs. Glenayr property is a 1000 acre property at Waverley, just outside of Launceston on Tasman Highway. Cattle (Tas grey, red and black angus) roam the paddocks, alongside a few sheep and horses. Wildlife such as kangaroos, deer and many species of birds abound.
For further diversity, Gordon planted a vineyard in 2005 with 3 cool-climate varieties. Gordon and Anna lovingly care for Ryanna Vineyard’s 4000 grape vines, no two the same.
