Our History, Our Story

After getting a taste for Adventure Tourism in New Zealand in 2001, Bazz travelled the world working in many places like Canada, Africa, Uganda, Japan, India, Switzerland and Australia. During this time he has became a world class Assessor/Instructor and guide in multiple Adrenaline adventure activities including Rafting, Kayaking, Bungy Jumping and yes CANYONING!  In 2016 Bazz and good friend Chrisso saw an opportunity to create a world-class canyoning operation for Raging Thunder Adventures.  After an extensive tender process through Cairns Regional Council, they built the operation from scratch using their combined 50 years experience.

In December 2019, when the opportunity arose, Bazz bought the company “Cairns Canyoning” from the Raging Thunder, Experience Co umbrella. Bazz has since expanded the company and activities to include a new shop front in town, extra canyoning sections in the region. Plus has taken on a the excitement of a new riverboarding company adding a new diversity and dimension to river rafting.

The Cairns Canyoning team is passionate about experiences, adventure, fun & safety. We see ourselves as ‘life experience coaches’ rather than tour guides. We continue to grow, showcasing some of North Queensland’s most pristine areas in a fun, adventurous kind of way.
